Who runs the site
The BedbugTraps.co.uk Editorial Team writes and maintains this site. We are not a pest control company. Although we do not sell traps ourselves, we compare products listed on Amazon UK and explain what each type of monitor can show you.
We started the site because trap listings often promise more than a trap can do. A monitor can help you find activity, but it cannot clear a room on its own. Therefore, every page here aims to set honest expectations before you spend money.
Our editorial rules
We follow a short set of rules on every page, because readers should know what to expect. First, we never invent prices, star ratings, review counts or test results. Second, we never claim that a trap will get rid of bed bugs. Third, we describe each product by the route it monitors and the evidence it cannot give you.
Because prices and stock change often on Amazon, we leave them out rather than show figures that may be wrong. Also, we update a page when a listing changes or when better evidence appears. Each guide shows what it covers so you can judge it for yourself.
How we use evidence
We check general claims about bed bug monitoring against peer-reviewed research and official guidance. For example, our pages on interceptors and sticky traps link to the studies behind them. If we cannot find a reliable source for a claim, we leave the claim out.
You can read the full process on our methodology page. It explains how we choose listings, what we check on each one and where our limits are. In short, we compare designs and uses, not lab results, because we have not run any lab tests.
How the site is funded
Product buttons link to Amazon UK with a disclosed demonstration affiliate tag. However, at present this is not an active earning relationship, and no maker pays for a place on our lists. Our affiliate disclosure sets this out in full.
We also pass inspection and treatment enquiries to pest control professionals who cover the visitor's area. That service is separate from our product comparisons. As a result, it never changes which traps we cover or how we describe them.
