What research suggests
Peer-reviewed work has found that sticky-trap surface roughness changes both approach and capture. Some field designs caught bed bugs, but interceptors remain a common monitoring benchmark.
Where placement matters
Place only where the product instructions allow and where a likely crawling route exists. Keep traps away from children, pets, dust and fabrics that can cover the adhesive.
What a catch tells you
A clearly identified bed bug confirms activity at that place and time. A catch of a beetle, fly or flea does not. Preserve the specimen rather than relying on a hurried glance.
What no catch tells you
An empty board may mean no bug crossed that board. It does not prove that the room, bed or home is clear.
