What this site is
BedbugTraps.co.uk is an independent UK comparison of bed bug interceptors, lure monitors and sticky traps sold on Amazon UK. We are not a manufacturer and we are not a pest controller. Our job is to help you pick the right type of trap and understand what it can tell you.
Because we earn nothing from a verdict that we invent, we keep the method plain. This page explains each step so you can judge our pages for yourself. It also shows what we leave out on purpose.
Listing verification
For every product we record the Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN), the listing title and the broad pack format. We also note whether the Amazon UK product page loaded on the day we checked. Availability, seller and price can change at any time, so we do not treat a listing as a fixed fact.
Evidence hierarchy
We rank our sources before we write a claim. First, we use peer-reviewed research for general points about how traps work. Next, we use the manufacturer’s own instructions for how to set up and use a product. Finally, we use the Amazon listing only to show what is on sale now, and we label any listing claim as the seller’s claim.
This order matters because a listing is advertising. A seller can say a product “works”, but that is not evidence. If we cannot support a claim from a better source, we leave it out.
How we group products
We compare by format first, because format decides what a trap can do. Interceptors sit under bed legs, so they suit a bed you can measure and move. Our interceptors guide covers that format, while the sticky traps guide explains the flat, glue-based type. Lure monitors are different again, and the active monitors guide shows where they fit.
Within a format, we compare practical points. These include pack size, whether the trap suits your bed legs and how easy it is to check each week. Our best bed bug traps page puts these choices side by side.
What we exclude
We do not copy star ratings, review counts, discounts or time-sensitive prices. We also do not invent a success rate, a laboratory score or a hands-on test. As a result, you will not see a made-up number on any page here.
We also never present a trap as a cure. A trap can show that bugs are active, and it can help you check progress. However, an empty trap is not proof that your home is clear, and our guide to what traps can and cannot do says so in full.
Keeping you on the right track
