A confirmed capture
A competent identification of a caught specimen is strong evidence of current or recent activity. Record where, when and in which part of the trap it appeared.
Repeated counts
Counts over time can help a professional judge activity and treatment response, but different placements and trap types are not directly interchangeable.
An empty monitor
Zero catches can be encouraging when the setup is sound and remains empty over an appropriate follow-up, but it is not proof of absence by itself.
Eradication
Some research has examined mass trapping as one part of management, yet ordinary retail trap use should not be represented as a dependable standalone cure for an established infestation.
